Sam is eager to help you with all your banking needs, including making it easier for you to bank whenever it’s convenient for you; especially during your travels! Before joining KCSB, Sam worked as an elementary teacher in the Canary Islands, Spain. Teaching and traveling make Sam perfectly suited to learning customer names, making sure they understand all the services available, answering questions and solving problems.
“I started working at the Vicksburg branch on 2/22/22 and have been quickly learning the names and faces of as many customers in the community as possible,” said Sam. “My favorite part of my position here at KCSB is knowing the customers who walk through the door with a specific purpose and that it is up to our team to make sure they leave with questions answered, and problems solved.”
He chose to work at KCSB so he could work for an organization that was local and “had a perfect ratio of daily fun to necessary professionalism.” We think Sam found his match!
When Sam is not in the office, he enjoys learning new skills like languages and instruments. “I’m currently learning my fourth language and fifth instrument.”
Sam also loves to travel. “I have been to around 35 countries and 33 states.”

- What is your favorite pastime? Sailing, I love to sail my boat in local lakes and have worked as a deckhand sailing around the Caribbean. My #1 goal is to circumnavigate the world someday.
- What are your hobbies? I’m an avid Michigan/Detroit sports fan, I love to cook, grow food, socialize, play instruments, realism art, etc.
- What is your favorite food? Seafood, sandwiches, paella, and fruit.
- What is your favorite holiday, and why? Christmas, because the entire family comes together for a steak and lobster feast before relaxing all week.
- What is on your favorite playlist? Jimmy Buffet and Bob Marley are my favorites, but I like all music.
- What’s the most daring thing you ever did? A solo hike through the amazon dodging trains, wild dogs, jaguars, and flashfloods.
- Family including pets! I am the youngest of four siblings and have two cats named George and Archibald.
