Kalamazoo County State Bank (KCSB) is pleased to announce President and Chief Executive Officer D. Scott Hines is elected Chairman of the Community Bankers of Michigan (CBM) Board of Directors for the fiscal year 2025-2026. Hine’s was appointed at the CBM Annual Convention & Expo held recently at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa in Traverse City.

“Community banking is in my blood, and I am deeply honored to act as Chairman of the Community Bankers of Michigan,” Scott said. “I look forward to serving our community bankers across Michigan and to represent Kalamazoo County State Bank. As community bankers, we all share a personal level of commitment to serving the families, farmers and businesses in our local communities. The challenges we continue to face in 2026 drive home how important our communities and community banks are to our local markets as well as our overall Michigan economy.”

A lifelong community banker, Scott joined KCSB in 2003 with 16 years of banking experience with a neighboring community bank. He was promoted to President of KCSB in 2015 and President and CEO in 2016. Scott has Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Olivet Nazarene University, Bourbonnais, Illinois.

Outside KCSB, Scott is active in the Community Bankers of Michigan, where he has served on the Board of Directors for 11 years. He is also active with the Independent Community Bankers of America and serves on their Political Action Committee. In the community, Scott sits on the Board of the Schoolcraft Downtown Development Authority. He was also a past long-time member of Rotary and Jaycees and past Board member and Treasurer of his church. Scott and his wife Laurie have two adult daughters and reside in neighboring Three Rivers.
