“I remember my first few days when I hired into KCSB and I was taken around the building,” recalls Tony. “I was frankly astonished at the amount of space and the number of varied departments. I had had very little experience with the inside of banks before then.”

Tony began his career at KCSB in April of 2017 as a Teller. In November of 2017, he began working in the Loan department. As a Loan Processor, his duties vary from uploading dealer loans, to monitoring title liens and insurance for vehicle loans. He has also started processing home equity lines of credit and refinancing home loans.

“The thing I like most about working at KCSB is the structured hours,” said Tony. “My previous job had varied hours and did not allow for much planning of free time.”

Tony says his decision to join KCSB was predicated on several things. “After working in retail for almost 15 years, I needed a change without being thrown into completely unfamiliar territory. I had experience with handling money and working directly with customers, and since the Bank was right down the street, the change seemed easy. It has certainly had its own brand of challenges, but I have enjoyed learning new things and understanding the banking world more.”

Here are few other fun things to know about Tony!

  • Outside of work, I primarily enjoy reading, writing, and drawing. I have not had much time for all my hobbies lately, but I hope to start changing that. I also enjoy Japanese cartoons and comics, as well as collecting Star Wars toys (one is only as old as one feels).
  • My favorite food is the chicken my mother would deep fry. Since her passing, I am trying to learn how to reproduce her recipe.
  • My favorite season is fall, because I enjoy the feeling of nostalgia and melancholy in the air.
  • Among my favorite musical artists are the bands Aerosmith and Queen, as well as several Hollywood score composers.
  • I would not say I have a specific role model, but I do look up to anyone who has achieved their dream after many years of trial and error.
  • My favorite TV show of all time is Mystery Science Theater 3000. Though no longer on television, most episodes are available to watch on various streaming services, so I never have to go without.
  • A favorite quote of mine would be: That which does not kill me makes me stronger. – Friedrich Nietzsche.
  • My immediate family includes myself and my two cats Shiva (11) and Gypsy (3). Weekly visits with my father and younger sister keep us close-knit.
