KCSB is pleased to announce the recipients of two coveted annual awards. Anthony R. Poehlman was chosen as the recipient of the 2023 Ken Krum Employee of the Year Award. Deanna L. Gerow was selected as the recipient of the 2023 LeeRoy M. Angell Directors Award.
“As we celebrated our 115th Anniversary in 2023, we continue to credit our excellent staff for helping to make KCSB so successful over the years,” said KCSB President and Chief Executive Officer D. Scott Hines. “These two employees perform exceptionally well in their positions with KCSB. As one of our Loan Clerks, Tony consistently goes above and beyond his duties. He is a role model for all other staff regarding his willingness to take on other responsibilities, his positive attitude and his prompt attendance record. As a Branch Manager Trainee, Deanna takes her role seriously helping customers in the Bank and supporting our communities. Deanna regularly volunteers in our communities to help make our neighborhoods a better place for all of us to live and work. As the local community bank, I am extremely proud of our employees and it’s an honor to award Tony and Deanna this year.”
Anthony R. Poehlman – 2023 Ken Krum Employee of the Year Award
This award is given in recognition of outstanding performance and dedicated service. Tony was selected as 2023 recipient by KCSB Officers in recognition of his dedication to the Bank, his willingness to take on responsibilities beyond with his loan duties and his enthusiasm toward his job and KCSB. He is flexible and always willing to help both the lenders and customers with loans that are urgent. Tony takes personal pride in making sure any project he is working on is done correctly and will truly benefit the Bank and our customers.
As Loan Processing Department is affectionately called the Zoo by fellow employees, Tony is fondly referred to as the ‘Glue of the Zoo’ given his willingness and ability to do just about everything in the Zoo!
Tony joined KCSB as a Teller in April of 2017. In January of 2018, he transitioned to Loan Clerk where he continues to process our consumer, business and mortgage loan documents and filings as well as taking excellent care of our customers.
Hines said, “We can always count on Tony to excel in his work, all with a positive attitude and a willingness to help wherever needed. Working with someone with these two personality traits is always refreshing!”
Deanna L. Gerow – 2023 LeeRoy M. Angell Directors Award
This award is given to honor an employee who has demonstrated outstanding community service and dedication to the Bank. Deanna was nominated by KCSB Executive Officers. As a community bank, the Officers look at the “big picture” of community service and volunteerism, not just Bank sponsored non-profit work.

Joining KCSB-Schoolcraft in 2016 Deanna began her KCSB career as a Personal Banker 1. In 2019, she was promoted to Personal Banker 2, and in 2020, Deanna was promoted to Branch Manager Trainee. She oversees and trains a staff of four as well as building relationships with our customers.
