As the local community bank, now for 115 years, KCSB has always been focused on the families and businesses in the communities we serve. We believe giving back to our communities helps keep our neighborhoods and businesses strong and thriving. KCSB’s commitment to volunteering begins with our employees’ finding events in our communities in which we feel the most passionate.

Movie in the Park is one such event. It had been very well advertised throughout Vicksburg. When KCSB was asked as a local business if we wanted to set up a “Trick or Treat Table” for the Halloween in August event on August 4, we quickly said yes! We put together a group of volunteers and created our “Trick or Treat Table.”

The first group of volunteers kept talking about what an amazing time it was. Then more volunteers became interested. When our Volunteer Committee realized the August 18 Movie in the Park was Disney’s Moana, we reached out to join the luau that was planned for that night. With more time to prepare – planning was underway.

We ordered glow in the dark sticker tattoos, slap bracelets, key chains, and paper glasses. We also had KCSB branded giveaways including koozies, butter mints, envelope openers and phone case wallets. After all the fun and excitement, it was without a doubt everyone would be thirsty, so we knew we had to remember the Hugs Juice Barrels with umbrella straws!

Our very own Patrick Fitzgerald, Branch Manager of our Mattawan Office, made a special guest appearance as Maui – the greatest demigod in the pacific islands with his magical fishhook. Adults and kids jumped in for a few pictures before the movie and grabbed a bag of Whopper candies disguised as “Coconuts fresh picked by Maui.”
The Volunteer Committee looks forward to finding more family fun events soon. It is our mission to stay connected with the communities we serve and spread joy.
